He is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed an internship and pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He is married and has two children and four grandchildren.

Kelly B. Bridgeman, M.D.
is a graduate of Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem. She completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She joined Catawba Pediatric Associates in 1995. She lives in Hickory with her four sons. |

Kiran C. Harrill, M.D.
is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston before joining Catawba Pediatric Associates in 1998. She is married to Dr. Will Harrill, a Catawba County ENT physician; they have two sons.

Joy S. Lowry, M.D.
is our most recent physician addition. She is from Catawba County and is a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College. She received her medical degree from East Carolina University and completed a pediatric internship and residency in the University Health Systems of Eastem Carolina (Pitt County Memorial Hospital). She joined Catawba Pediatric Associate in November 2006. Her husband, Brian, is an emergency medicine physician. They have two children.

Barbara Barringer, RN, MSN, PNP has worked with Catawba Pediatrics since 1992. She was initially employed as a registered nurse before obtaining her MSN degree from UNC Charlotte. In 1995 she completed a pediatric nurse practitioner degree at Duke University and has since practiced in that capacity at Catawba Pediatrics. She is married and has an adult daughter.

Shawn Desmond, RN, MSN, PNP joined Catawba Pediatrics in November 2004. She received a BS degree in Public Health from UNC Chapel Hill and a BSN from UNC Greensboro. After obtaining an MSN degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 2003, she has practiced as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She is married and has one daughter.

Rachel Turbyfill, Physician Assistant, has been employed by Catawba Pediatric ince 1976. She is a graduate of the Bowman Gray School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program. Rachel provides coordination of care for patients with chronic illnesses and supervises ancillary service. |

Debbie Cashion, Practice Administrator, has been employed by Catawba Pediatrics since 1981. She is a graduate of Bauder College and attended Westem Carolina University. Debbie is responsible for the administration, direction, and coordination of all clinic activities. |
